Open Access Policy and Terms of Use of Copyrighted Materials

The journal’s open access editorial policy is developed in accordance with the recommendations and standards of the Budapest Open Access Initiative.

The journal applies the concept of “open access” as defined in the official documents of the Budapest Open Access Initiative.

“Open access” to peer-reviewed scholarly literature refers to free and public access via the Internet, allowing any user to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to full-text articles, index them, transmit them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the Internet itself. The only restriction on reproduction and distribution is the requirement to respect copyright, which ensures the author’s right to control the integrity of their work and to receive proper attribution and citation.

The editorial board supports the principles and values of open science and considers open research data to be an essential component in ensuring transparency and reproducibility of scientific research. In its activities, the journal adheres to the FAIR principles (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, Reusability) (“The FAIR Guiding Principles for scientific data management and stewardship”):

  • Findability: research materials should be deposited in reliable repositories and assigned persistent identifiers (DOI), enabling their unambiguous identification and citation;
  • Accessibility: data should be accessible through standardized access mechanisms; where restrictions exist (ethical, legal, contractual), authors must clearly state them;
  • Interoperability: where possible, data should be provided in open or widely used formats to ensure usability across different research environments;
  • Reusability: data should be accompanied by sufficient metadata to allow other researchers to understand the context of their creation and reuse them appropriately.

The journal operates under the Creative Commons Attribution International CC BY license. This license permits users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, cite, or link to the full text of articles published in the journal.

The journal provides immediate open access to all published materials, ensuring that research results are freely available to a broad audience and promoting global knowledge exchange. This means that every Internet user has free and unrestricted access to full-text articles; manuscripts are available without subscription or financial barriers; and all materials become available online immediately upon publication without delay.

The publisher allows authors to deposit the final version of their article in an institutional or subject repository where it is freely accessible, ensuring maximum visibility and impact of the publication.

Authors whose articles are published in open access retain full copyright while granting the journal the right to publish original scientific articles containing the results of experimental and theoretical research that are not under consideration by other publications.

The author certifies that the submitted material:

  • does not infringe the copyright of other individuals or organizations;
  • has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

The rights transferred by the author [link to copyright transfer agreement] to the editorial board of the scientific journal “Central Ukrainian Scientific Bulletin. Technical Sciences” include, in particular, the rights to:

  • publish the article in Ukrainian or English and distribute its printed version;
  • translate the article into English (for Ukrainian-language submissions) and distribute the printed translation;
  • distribute the electronic version of the article, as well as the electronic version of its English translation (for Ukrainian-language articles), through any electronic means (including posting on the official journal website, electronic databases, repositories, etc.).

The author retains the right, without prior consent from the editorial board or founders, to:

  • use the article materials in whole or in part for educational purposes;
  • use the article materials in whole or in part in their own dissertations;
  • use the article materials for preparing conference abstracts, presentations, and oral reports.

In all cases, proper bibliographic citation of the article or a hyperlink to its electronic version on the official journal website is mandatory.
